Literacy
Today we met the Intrepid Shapiro and Fearless O'Toole. We also talked about another literary device, satire. Satire is type of humour that makes fun of someone or something. How did Mordecai Richler use satire when describing children? the judge? lawyers?

Make sure when you are writing your sentences using new vocabulary words, you are writing simple, compound and complex sentences. The reader should be able to know the meaning of the words from the CONTEXT of your sentence.

Religion
The gospel reading this week was a familiar one. What happened? Watch the video clip if you've forgotten.

During the upcoming season of Lent, how will you welcome Jesus into your boat?

Man From Ethiopia comic strip should be submitted by tomorrow.
Frame 1: Philip sees the man in his chariot reading the Bible
Frame 2: Philip talks to the man
Frame 3: The man and Philip sit down and Philip explains the scripture
Frame 4: The man is baptized

On Bitstrips, go to activities and this is an assignment (Man from Ethiopis). If you do not start the comic as an assignment, you cannot submit it to me for feedback.

Each student will be given two pancakes tomorrow morning. If you'd like to bring toppings other than syrup, feel free. Remember we are a nut-free classroom.
