Religion

Math
Review for both grades in class. Grade 4 should complete Mid-Chapter Review #1,2,4, 5 and Skills Bank #5 or Chapter Review #3. A little confusion with the last question. They are both similar so it's not important which one you complete.

Unit Test on Wednesday, December 16th 

Social Studies
Today we reviewed the expectations for the test. We discussed:

  • the negative effects of the use of pesticides in the city and idling cars for more than two minutes
  • the causes of child poverty in Canadian cities and the needs of children living in poverty; food, clothes, participation in sports/activities, affordable housing; some suggestions for helping with food included collecting food for food banks and hamper programs, school breakfast programs 
  • the purpose of the World Climate Summit and why leaders from around the world attended 
  • the importance of reducing carbon dioxide emissions and what countries can do to help

Reminders:

  • Bring your material tomorrow to create your animal. Bring a plastic container to store it in over the holidays.
  • Christmas Craft Day on Thursday. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU HAVE A BABY FOOD JAR.  VOLUNTEERS ANY TIME ON THURSDAY WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.
  • Skating on Friday. The grade fours will be on the ice at an earlier time than the grade fives. Mr. D'Oria will be supervising the grade fives. VOLUNTEERS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED
  • Red and green or pajama  day on Thursday (we will be snuggling on the carpet during crafts and watching a movie). 
  • Mass at St. George in the morning 
  • Off-uniform day on Friday
