Literacy
Our reading strategy today was making connections. Why might it be important to make connections while you are reading? Explain to your parents the meaning of a "sneak thief". Did you guess who stole the coin collection? Great job working with your group to answer your question. Tomorrow we will review them using the document camera and bump them up using our APE criteria.

Success Criteria

  • Answer is correct or possible and written in sentences beginning with part of the question.
  • Proof from the text is used support answer.
  • Explanation of proof is included.

Math
Everyone seemed to understand different ways we can show the same number using base-ten blocks.
For example:
563 = 5 hundreds + 6 tens + 3 ones
or
563 = 4 hundreds + 16 tens + 3 ones
or
563 = 2 hundreds + 25 tens + 13 ones

Religion
Please practice your part for your Religion play. You do not need to memorize your lines (you are allowed to bring up your book), but you must be able to read your part fluently, with good expression, tone and volume. You must also make eye contact with the audience.

Think about possible costumes, props etc. No need to go overboard. Just look for things around the house.

Science
Today we discussed adaptations. What are the two types of adaptations? Can you describe animals and plants with these types of adaptations? What animal or plant are you interested in learning more about? Start researching at home about the adaptations of an animal or plant that you'd like to learn more about.
Make sure you finish your handout.
