Today we talked about our first during reading strategy, check for understanding. Every so often we stop during reading and ask ourselves two questions:
- Who was it about?
- What happened?
When we cannot retell what happened we need to BACK UP AND REREAD at a slower pace.
We practiced this strategy using a very moving text called "Thank You Mr. Falker".

Tomorrow you will finish summarizing the plot with your partner. Remember a plot summary is short; one sentence for the beginning, 3 sentences for the middle and 1 sentence for the end.
Math
Both grades finished homework in class. Feedback will be given in notebooks and corrections should be completed for math books 1 and 2 on Monday.
Family Life
Today we continue our discussion on how we are "God's work art". We met the students in Mr. Talbot's grade 5 class. Excellent oral discourse during Family Life. Many of you had connections to the students in the textbook.
Computers
Your Bit Strip comic must be finished before the next computer class (Thursday). Please submit your comic for review when you are done. Read feedback carefully.
