Literacy
Today we discussed again the importance of using proof from the text to support our ideas. I will be marking the questions you completed today.
The first group will be presenting their court room scene tomorrow. Make sure you practice your lines, know when to say your line or act your part and bring an appropriate costume. When dramatizing a scene remember:

  • Exaggerated facial expression
  • Expression in your voice
  • Gesture

Make the most of the lines you have!

Math
Grade fours reviewed subtraction with regrouping (pencil and paper) and using base-ten blocks. Remember to use estimation to decide if your answer is reasonable and addition to check. Here's a cute poem to remember whether or not you need to regroup:

Grade fives were introduced to addition of decimals with regrouping. Remember to line up the decimal. The pencil and paper algorithm (method) is the same.

Religion
Today we prayed the sorrowful mysteries. Do you remember what they are? Were you reverent during rosary?

Science
So far you should know:

  • Definitions of matter, volume, mass, weight
  • States of matter
  • Properties of each state of matter

Please keep up your word search with your matter vocabulary words and read the assigned pages to be prepared for tomorrow, Lesson 2
