Science
Today we took a closer look at food chains and the different ways we classify living things in a habitat. Living things fit under what three categories? Answers to all questions can be found in the textbook. Do not guess at what kind of consumer an animal is considered. Look it up on the Internet. For example, is a fox a herbivore, omnivore or carnivore? Try to use different plants and animals in each food chain. Feel free to include other decomposers.
Literacy
Encyclopedia Brown is a very clever boy detective. I didn't know the meaning of the money clue! Make sure you answer the questions in complete sentences and include proof from the text to support your ideas. I hope you were listening.... many students provided good answers.
Math
Today we reviewed standard form, base-ten blocks and putting digits of a number into the correct place value. Homework questions are a review of last year.
Grade 5, we reviewed decimal tenths. Remember, the hundred base-ten block represents 1 whole, the tens block tenths and the ones block hundredths.

Election night has finally arrived! How were the polling stations at the school similar to ours? Different?
