Election St. Nicholas
Wow..... what a day! Election day went very well. All the students in the school voted for their party (or colour) of choice. Everyone did a wonderful job helping the primary students vote and acting as scrutineers in the school election. Tomorrow we will gather with Mr. D's class to announce the election results.
Stay tuned tomorrow to find out who the students at St. Nicholas voted for Prime Minister of Canada.

Key words: candidate, first -past -the- post, ridings, constituents, representative, ballot, member of parliament, House of Commons, majority government, minority government

Math
Most students completed their assessment question. Some will be given a short period of time to finish.

Today everyone participated in Caribou Math. This is a worldwide on-line math contest. The first test is open to all students. Those that feel comfortable completing the tests and score relatively well, will be invited to participate in the other 5 tests throughout the year. Stay tuned!

Learning Goal
Everyone was asked to set a learning goal for tomorrow. How will you achieve your goal? How will you measure your success? It's not enough to write "Talk less."

Safe travels to those students who are travelling outside the city this weekend.
